This is where I intend to share.
I’ve been a composer/arranger/producer for the last 35 years and an educator for much of that time. The time has taken me into quite a few diverse musical experiences.
I’ve composed music for jazz bands. I’ve written for small chamber ensembles. I’ve composed music for some film scores and orchestrations for a few musicals. Most of the music has been to enhance the experience of the musicians involved. Often it was music for a classroom full of students. Or it was a group of professionals gathered in the basement preparing for a club date. There is often a story told and music is an intrinsic part of the storytelling.
I’ve lived in Seattle for most of my life. It has changed. Once a small city where Boeing produces aircraft is now the northern center of the tech world. I made weekly visits to the very first Starbucks as a little boy. There have been many changes in this town.
Geoff Ogle has been composing and arranging for 35 years. He received an undergraduate degree from the University of Washington where he studied trombone with Stuart Dempster. He received his masters from the University of Miami in Studio Jazz Writing. Several short films and television commercials, as well as several Seattle-area jazz bands and chamber ensembles, have featured his music. He currently teaches music in the Seattle Public Schools where he has taught band, orchestra, piano, guitar, and recording arts. He owns a patisserie with his partner who has a beautiful child of her own. He has two children and loves to train for triathlons. He likes croissants.
I strive to integrate the most current and relevant learning experiences for music students. I am committed to music education and seek to provide relevant skills and experiences through my experience as a composer/arranger/producer in the music and film industry. These experiences have included the uses of the latest music technology, performing with multi-media, performing original works as well as skills in songwriting and production.
